The Old West Melodrama Productions Civil War era melodrama, The Great Male Order Sting of Indianola.
The play will run Friday and Saturday evenings, from Feb. 8 through Feb. 23 at Puffabelly’s Old Depot Restaurant located at 100 Main Street, Old Town Spring, TX 77373. The production begins as the Civil War is nearing its end, and many young, lonely widows have been left to fend for themselves as they learn their husbands won’t be returning home. Taking advantage of this situation is Postal Lothario, a ruthless, silver-tongued villain, who sets out to provide companionship by mail in hopes of swindling the women out of their money. Joe Cole, producer of Old West Melodrama, believes actors and audiences alike will have a fun and exciting experience. It’s a story about internet dating before the internet, Cole said.
Instead of logging on and looking at profiles, our villain uses snail mail to charm the hearts and wallets of women. Old West Melodrama, stationed in Old Town Spring, is the only performing group in the greater Houston area that offers popcorn melodramas and murder mystery dinner shows year round. The troupe is comprised of experienced actors and performers who enjoy interacting with the audience.
